Wheel Loader Operations & Maintenance Training Programme

This specialised training programme by Ley Choon Construction and Engineering Pte Ltd is designed to equip learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills to safely operate the Wheel Loader Machine in construction and infrastructure environments.

Participants will develop strong operational discipline, understand machine components, and gain hands-on experience in performing loading, trenching, and backfilling works. The programme also emphasises safety awareness, hazard identification, and proper maintenance practices to ensure efficient and safe equipment usage.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of the programme, learners will be able to:

  • Operate the Caterpillar 966H Wheel Loader within its design capabilities and limitations
  • Identify key machine parts, functions, and operating characteristics
  • Conduct pre-operation, during-operation, and post-operation inspections
  • Apply safe driving and operational techniques, including loading and material handling
  • Perform work activities such as loading, trench digging, and backfilling safely
  • Carry out basic preventive maintenance, including checking engine oil, hydraulic oil, coolant, and transmission systems
  • Understand servicing schedules and maintenance requirements
  • Identify workplace hazards and apply appropriate risk control measures to prevent incidents

These competencies are aligned with structured performance standards to ensure operational readiness and safety compliance.

Assessment & Certification:

  • Theory Assessment: Multiple-choice questions (1 hour)
  • Practical Assessment: Hands-on evaluation (6 hours)

Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded:
