Heavy Machinery Operations & Maintenance Training Programme

The Heavy Machinery Operations & Maintenance Training Programme by Ley Choon Construction and Engineering Pte Ltd is a comprehensive, hands-on training package designed to equip learners with the essential competencies to safely operate key construction machinery used in infrastructure and maintenance works.

This integrated programme covers the operation of a Compact Excavator, Backhoe Loader, and Skid Steer Loader, providing participants with broad exposure to different machine functions, site applications, and working environments.

The programme emphasises safety, operational control, and preventive maintenance to ensure learners are workplace-ready and aligned with industry standards

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the programme, learners will be able to:

  • Safely operate different types of heavy machinery within their design capabilities
  • Identify key machine parts, controls, and operational functions
  • Conduct pre-operation, during-operation, and post-operation inspections
  • Apply safe driving and manoeuvring techniques in various worksite conditions
  • Perform excavation, loading, trenching, and backfilling works safely
  • Operate machine attachments with proper control and stability
  • Carry out basic preventive maintenance, including fluid checks and lubrication
  • Understand servicing requirements and maintenance cycles
  • Identify workplace hazards and apply appropriate risk control measures
 

Programme Structure

This programme includes training on:

  • Compact Excavator Operations

The training consists of structured theory, practical sessions, and assessments conducted in a controlled environment by experienced trainers.

Assessment & Certification

  • Theory Assessment: Multiple-choice questions (1 hour)
  • Practical Assessment: Hands-on evaluation

Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded:

  • Minimum 75% attendance
  • Passing of required assessments
