LEAK DETECTION

In 2002, we incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary; Ley Choon Technology Pte Ltd to perform specialized works on underground services, leak tracing and detection. We imported high technology instruments from Europe to venture into the detection of underground infrastructure such as water and gas pipes, cables, fiber optics etc. Ley Choon Technology Pte Ltd was one of the first few to be equipped with this advanced technology system that promises high accuracy in underground infrastructure detection. Leak noise correlation method is the most effective method of pinpointing leaks in buried pipelines. Once the leak has been pinpointed by correlation, our sounding equipment will confirm the leak position to ensure that excavation is accurately targeted. This offers significant cost and time reduction in repairing damaged underground services.

Yet another initiative taken by Ley Choon Technology Pte Ltd is the use of the radio-frequency energy and georadar equipment. This device satisfies the requirements of the no-dig operators which can be helpful when planning for new installations, finding utilities, evaluating integrity of vertical and horizontal structures (walls, tunnels, floors, etc), revealing geometry of metallic reinforcing elements, verifying asphalt layer thickness of motorways and airport runways, among others.

Ley Choon Constructions and Engineering Pte Ltd has been PUB's leak detection service contractor for three consecutive years since 2002. To date, we have detected more than 30 km of pipeline leakage. Our valued customers include PUB, multinational corporations such as Seagate, Glaxo Smith Kline, Keppel Land International Limited, Jurong Port Pte Ltd, to name but just a few.
